Music’s role in a child’s education is key in engaging them, sparking their creativity and unique voice and improving their overall enjoyment and success in school. A vibrant, music-rich curriculum makes an immense difference in their lives. Join the movement to keep music alive in our schools!

Donate a gently-used instrument

We accept donations of new and gently-used band and orchestral instruments in playable and good cosmetic condition, which will be donated to schools. Some instruments may not meet our quality standards and will be sold on our eBay charity page, where 100% of the proceeds will be used to purchase new instruments. We do not accept pianos, organs, recorders or accordions.

  • Please complete and submit our instrument donation form. You will receive a confirmation email with the information you entered.
  • Place a copy of your instrument donation confirmation email with your well-packaged instrument and send to MHOF, 4370 Tujunga Ave., Ste 330, Studio City, CA 91604. We will notify you once we receive your instrument.
  • Keep a copy of your instrument donation confirmation email for your records, as the current estimated value of the instrument determined by you will serve as your receipt for tax purposes.
  • A professional appraisal is required for instruments valued at over $5,000. Please forward to: MHOF, 4370 Tujunga Ave., Ste. 330, Studio City, CA 91604. For more information, please visit Publication 561 Determining the Value of Donated Property.
