Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation

The Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation keeps music alive in our schools and communities by donating musical instruments to under-funded music programs, giving youngsters the many benefits of music education, helping them to be better students and inspiring creativity and expression through playing music.

We believe that kids thrive when given the chance to learn and play music. Putting an instrument into their hands improves the quality of their education and their lives. The window is brief and all kids deserve a chance to play music in school!

"Since the day I set foot in the Band Room, I knew I was going to join Band. I wanted to because I felt that it would affect my life in a wonderful way. Music is my life and I would not be the same person that I am now if I have not been part of the Band. My flute was hard to play. I struggled hitting notes, and I sounded horrible when I played high notes and low notes, it was bad. It meant the world to me when I got my new flute! Once I played my first note, I felt that I can accomplish anything and everythng. And without it I would not be a great musician that I am now."
