Donate An Instrument

We accept donations of gently-used band and orchestral instruments in playable and good cosmetic condition. They will be refurbished and sent to school music programs. Some instruments may not meet our quality standards and will be sold on our eBay charity page where 100% of the proceeds will be used to purchase new instruments. We do not accept pianos, organs or accordions.

Send your well-packaged instrument to 4370 Tujunga Ave., Ste 330, Studio City, CA 91604. Please complete and include our downloadable instrument donation form in the instrument case or shipping box. Be sure to make a copy of the completed form for your records, as the current estimated value of the instrument placed by you will serve as your receipt for tax purposes. A professional appraisal will need to be provided to us for any instrument valued over $5,000. For more information, visit Publcation 561, Determining the Value of Donated Property.

We always like to know the history of the instrument and how you decided to donate it to us, so if you like, please include that as well, or send an e-mail with the information. If you have any questions, please give us a call or e-mail

"I am sending you a King 1501 trumpet that my mom bought me some thirty plus years ago. I started playing trumpet in the sixth grade with the encouragement of my mom. I started with a used brass one that I kept until high school. My mom surprised me in high school with the silver one I am sending you today!

I grew up in a poor home in Georgia with no father, but with a mother who loved me! She worked so very hard to provide for my brother and myself. I know it was so tough just for her to provide the basic things at times - she saved and a sacrificed so much for my trumpet! My mom believed in music and me and for this I am very thankful! I was so proud to have a new silver trumpet and to play it in the high school band!

My mom died several years ago but I think of her every time I look at my trumpet. It is now time for my instrument to be played again and bring joy into another life! Please give the trumpet to a deserving someone and let them know it was a gift from 'Peggy' - my mom!

I never played all that well, but mom always made me feel like I did!"
